Driver arrested after colliding with firetruck at Daytona B…

Florida Highway Patrol troopers were investigating a separate rollover crash along West International Speedway south of Indian Lake Road in Daytona Beach when a driver in a 2020 Honda Civic collided with a firetruck at the scene. The Civic driver then fled, leading Volusia County deputies and FHP troopers on a chase that ended when the driver ran off the roadway and struck a pole at International Speedway Boulevard and Amelia Avenue. The 27-year-old DeLand man was arrested; firefighters were not injured in the original incident. A 44-year-old Miami man was being treated for possible injuries from the initial rollover.
