William 'Bill' North, a 64-year-old longtime prosecutor in the Bessemer division's office, fell into Logan Martin Lake in St. Clair County, Alabama, while serving as a spotter for the Pell City Sail Club boat race over the weekend. Multiple agencies were called to help locate him, and his body was pulled from the water on Monday. He was the longest-serving prosecutor in the Bessemer division's office and a supervisor in Judge David Carpenter's court.
