Hit And Run Deland Florida in DeLand, Florida: A 27-year-old DeLand man, identified as Jamal Anthony Riascos, was taken into custody Tuesday after a hit-and-run involving a Volusia County fire truck. The incident occurred around 4 p.m. on International Speedway Boulevard, south of Indian Lake Road, where troopers were investigating a separate rollover crash. Riascos, driving a 2020 Honda Civic, allegedly failed to stop, struck Volusia County Fire Truck 15, and continued down the boulevard. Troopers pursued the Civic to the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and Amelia Avenue in DeLand, where it ran off the roadway and struck a pole. Riascos attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended by a trooper and taken to the hospital; he faces charges including leaving the scene of a crash involving property damage, reckless driving, resisting without violence, and violation of probation.
