Geovani Aponte Jr., 18, and Jaiden Pacheco, 20, were killed on June 26, 2026, when the Hyundai they were riding in as passengers collided head-on with another vehicle at the intersection of Willimantic Road and Phoenixville Road in Chaplin, Connecticut. Two other occupants of the Hyundai, ages 18 and 19, suffered serious injuries, and the driver of the second vehicle was hospitalized with minor injuries. Connecticut State Police said the cause of the crash remains under investigation and asked witnesses to contact Troop D in Danielson.
