Two passengers killed in head-on crash on Route 6 in Chaplin

Car Crash Chaplin Connecticut in Chaplin, Connecticut: A 2022 Hyundai Elantra collided head-on with a 2018 Dodge Journey on Route 6 in Chaplin, Connecticut, at 11:53 p.m. on June 26, 2026. Two passengers in the Hyundai — 20-year-old Jaiden Pacheco of Mansfield/Windham and 18-year-old Aponte Jr. of Willimantic — were declared dead at the scene. The Hyundai's 19-year-old driver and an 18-year-old passenger from Willimantic suffered serious injuries and were transported to Hartford Hospital. The Dodge's 44-year-old driver was transported to Windham Hospital with minor injuries. Connecticut State Police are actively investigating the crash.
