Car Crash Springdale South Carolina in Springdale, South Carolina: A twin-engine Beechcraft BE55 crashed through trees and caught fire on a hillside off Brooklyn Avenue near Springdale Road around 1 a.m., seriously injuring the two male occupants believed to be pilots. The plane, registered to Pressley Aviation in North Carolina, had departed Poplarville-Pearl River County Airport in Mississippi and was headed to Stanly County Airport in Albemarle, North Carolina, when the pilot reported engine failure. Diversion attempts to Lancaster County Airport were unsuccessful. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office, Fire Rescue, and EMS responded, and the FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause.
