Car Crash Pennsylvania Today in Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr., 44, was killed on Wednesday morning while conducting a commercial vehicle inspection along Interstate 81 southbound in Cass Township, Schuylkill County. Pahira was standing outside his marked patrol vehicle near the cab of a parked tractor-trailer when a second tractor-trailer allegedly driven by 33-year-old Michael Bon of Brockton, Massachusetts, left the travel lane, struck the side mirror of Pahira's patrol vehicle, and crashed into the rear of the commercial vehicle being inspected, forcing it into Pahira. Both tractor-trailers caught fire. Pahira was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Bon was also transported to the hospital and has been charged with multiple offenses including felony homicide by vehicle and aggravated assault by vehicle.
