Officers found pedestrian Keith Diontaquawn Blanks, 34, unresponsive; he was pronounced dead at the scene by MEDIC. The driver, Meinyunah Saah Foiyoe, 26, of a white Chevrolet Traverse, was not injured and refused medical treatment. Initial investigation indicated Blanks was attempting to cross Statesville Road outside a designated crosswalk when he was struck.
