Assault Mahwah New Jersey in Mahwah, New Jersey: A 45-year-old Mahwah man was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and simple assault after allegedly attacking a 78-year-old landscaper and his 68-year-old wife on June 25. The couple had stopped their landscaping truck for a school bus with activated lights in front of the suspect's home on Glasgow Terrace when he yelled at them, then later approached the wife, threw the husband to the ground, kicked him, and choked him with both hands. The suspect also struck the wife multiple times before fleeing; he surrendered to Mahwah Police Headquarters later that night and was taken to Bergen County Jail.
