Eight cats die in Navarre house fire on Montalban Street
Vehicle Fire Navarre Florida in Navarre, Florida: A house fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the 8300 block of Montalban Street in Navarre, Florida. The homeowner safely removed all three dogs before firefighters arrived. Firefighters from Holley-Navarre Fire, Midway Fire, and Navarre Beach Fire rescued three cats and recovered eight deceased cats from inside the home; three other cats were believed to have escaped. The fire originated on the home's back porch and spread into the residence and attic, causing heavy damage and rendering the home uninhabitable. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.
