Drowning Annapolis Maryland in Annapolis, Maryland: A child was hospitalized after a non-fatal drowning at the Kenneth R. Dunn Municipal Pool at Truxtun Park in Annapolis on Wednesday. An on-duty lifeguard removed the child from the pool, according to an Annapolis Fire Department spokesperson. The City of Annapolis closed the pool out of respect for those involved and to allow staff to complete safety procedures and incident reviews. The incident followed two fatal child drownings at private residential pools in Anne Arundel County on June 27 and June 28.
