Surveillance video obtained by News 12 showed the man falling from the elevated tracks onto the street below near Jerome Avenue and West 184th Street. Witnesses said the man was running along the elevated tracks while officers approached from opposite directions and that he appeared to jump and tried to grab a nearby tree to break his fall but could not hold on.
