Woman hospitalized after car plunges into Hialeah canal

Hialeah Fire Rescue said the driver may have suffered a medical emergency before losing control of the vehicle. She was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center. A nearby resident assisted by giving an officer a snorkel and mask to search for possible passengers. The driver's condition was not immediately known.
