Car Crash Bessemer Alabama in Bessemer, Alabama: A pickup truck was struck by an Amtrak passenger train at a railroad crossing near 32nd Street and Carolina Avenue in Bessemer just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. The Jefferson County coroner identified the truck's driver as Robert Scott and the passenger as Royal Hatton Jr., both of whom were killed. Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church posted that Scott was a minister and deacon at the church. Bessemer Police and Amtrak have been contacted regarding the ongoing investigation.
