Two drivers injured in crash near Cook, Minnesota

The Minnesota State Patrol said the SUV, driven by an on-duty St. Louis County Deputy Sheriff, was hit by the pick-up that failed to stop at a stop sign. The crash occurred at the intersection of Highway 1 and Samuelson Road. The pick-up driver was taken to a hospital in Duluth with life-threatening injuries, while the deputy was hospitalized in Cook with non-life-threatening injuries. The State Patrol continues to investigate.
