Car Crash Union North Carolina in Union, North Carolina: A tractor-trailer driver was charged after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel and killing another driver in Union County, according to the Monroe Police Department. The crash occurred around 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, July 1 at the intersection of Pageland Highway and White Store Road. Police said Charles Allen Davis fell asleep while driving, causing the tractor-trailer to leave the right side of the road and collide with a Toyota Camry in the intersection. The Toyota driver died from her injuries, and Davis, 64, was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
