Car Crash West Haverstraw New York in West Haverstraw, New York: A Thiells Fire Department underwater search and rescue truck crashed into an occupied single-family home on Railroad Avenue shortly after midnight while responding to a reported boating accident near the Hudson River in West Haverstraw. Police said the rescue truck was heading east on Railroad Avenue and crossing Route 9W when it collided with a white Jeep traveling north on Route 9W, driven by a 17-year-old. The collision sent the rescue truck down a hill into the home, where a family with young children was inside; one adult from the home and four to five first responders from the truck, along with the Jeep's driver, were transported to hospitals. Authorities said all injured are expected to recover, and the 17-year-old Jeep driver was ticketed for operating a vehicle after dark with a junior license.
