TDCJ prison bus overturns near Groesbeck, injuring 8

Car Crash Groesbeck Texas in Groesbeck, Texas: A Texas Department of Criminal Justice bus carrying 26 inmates and three staff members to the Gurney Unit in Palestine crashed Wednesday morning outside Groesbeck. The bus ran into a guardrail and overturned around 9:30 a.m. on Highway 164, just east of Highway 139, between Donie and Groesbeck. Seven inmates and one correctional staff member were transported to local hospitals with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening. Texas DPS said the investigation is active and ongoing.
