Car Crash Butler Missouri in Butler, Missouri: A Pacific Aerospace Limited 750XL skydiving plane crashed nose-down into a grassy field about 445 feet west of the southern end of the planned landing zone at Butler Memorial Airport in Butler, Missouri, killing 12 people. The plane had taken off from the mid-field of the runway and began a gradual left turn as it ascended, with both wings eventually becoming approximately perpendicular to the ground. A post-crash fire significantly burned all major components of the plane. The NTSB preliminary report found no indications of preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures and said the plane met weight and balance requirements. The operator, Skydive Kansas City, told the NTSB they had no previous concerns with the pilot.
