Car Crash Schuylkill Pennsylvania in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira Jr., 44, was killed on Wednesday morning on Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County after a tractor-trailer driven by Michael Bon, 33, of Brockton, Massachusetts, veered off the southbound lanes onto the shoulder near Exit 119 (Highridge Park Road) in Butler Township. Bon's white Freightliner struck the mirror of Pahira's marked patrol vehicle, then hit the rear of the tractor-trailer Pahira was inspecting, and pinned Pahira beneath its front bumper. A large fire broke out and engulfed Bon's tractor-trailer; three nearby construction workers pulled Pahira out from under the truck and dragged him about 30 yards from the burning wreckage before a witness called 911.
