Car Crash Schuylkill Pennsylvania in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael E. Pahira, 44, was killed on Wednesday while conducting a commercial vehicle inspection along Interstate 81 in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Pahira was inspecting a tractor-trailer in front of his marked patrol unit with emergency lights activated when a semi truck veered off the highway, struck the patrol unit's side mirror, and hit Pahira. Both the vehicle being inspected and the semi caught fire. Pahira was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. According to court documents, 33-year-old Michael Bon, the driver of the semi, is being charged with vehicular homicide, manslaughter, and other counts.
