Car Crash Grand Rapids Michigan in Grand Rapids, Michigan: A 23-year-old man driving an SUV eastbound on I-196 crossed the median into westbound lanes and struck another vehicle around 8 p.m. Wednesday, according to Michigan State Police. One passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other SUV occupants and a 47-year-old front passenger in the westbound vehicle suffered critical injuries and were taken to a local hospital; a fourth SUV passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The 49-year-old driver of the westbound vehicle was not injured. Westbound I-196 was closed during the investigation.
