She suffered severe burns, spent about two months on life support including an ECMO machine, underwent multiple surgeries, and left the hospital just before Thanksgiving. The UNC Jaycee Burn Center reports that since 2016, 122 patients have been admitted for fireworks-related injuries, with admissions spiking around the Fourth of July.
