Car Crash Pennsylvania Today in Pennsylvania: Michael Bon, 33, of Brockton, Massachusetts, was charged with multiple felony and misdemeanor offenses after his 2019 Freightliner tractor-trailer struck and killed Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Michael E. Pahira during a commercial vehicle inspection on the shoulder of Interstate 81 South in Butler Township on July 1, 2026. Pahira had parked his marked patrol Ford F-350 behind a stopped red Freightliner driven by Walter Alfredo Reinoso of Queens, New York, and was inspecting the brake system when Bon's truck drifted off the roadway, struck the patrol truck's mirror, and crashed into the rear of Reinoso's trailer, pinning Pahira beneath the front bumper. A fire engulfed Bon's tractor-trailer after the crash, and witnesses hesitated to approach due to exploding tires and flames.
