Car Crash Schuylkill Pennsylvania in Schuylkill, Pennsylvania: A Massachusetts truck driver was charged following a fatal crash on Interstate 81 southbound near Mile Marker 119.3 in Cass Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Trooper Michael E. Pahira Jr., 44, was conducting a commercial motor vehicle inspection while standing outside his patrol vehicle when a second tractor-trailer driven by Michael Bon, 33, of Brockton, Massachusetts, left the roadway, struck the patrol unit's mirror, and collided with the truck being inspected, striking the trooper. Both commercial vehicles caught fire. Trooper Pahira was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. Bon was injured and transported to the hospital. Bon was arraigned on multiple charges including homicide by vehicle and aggravated assault by vehicle and held on $700,000 cash bail.
