Car Crash Mahanoy Township Pennsylvania in Mahanoy Township, Pennsylvania: Pennsylvania State Trooper Michael Pahira was killed on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township, Schuylkill County, when a tractor-trailer driven by 33-year-old Michael Bon of Massachusetts left the roadway and struck Pahira, his parked State Police truck, and a tractor-trailer Pahira was inspecting on the shoulder. Construction workers pulled Pahira from the front bumper of the striking truck before a fire broke out. Bon faces charges including homicide by vehicle and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 16. The driver of the inspected tractor-trailer was hospitalized after briefly losing consciousness.
