Assault Mahwah New Jersey in Paramus, New Jersey: A 45-year-old Mahwah man was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation after allegedly attacking a 78-year-old landscaper and his 68-year-old wife on Glasgow Terrace in Mahwah, Bergen County, New Jersey. The couple had stopped their landscaping truck for a school bus with activated lights in front of the suspect's home on June 25, 2026, when the suspect allegedly yelled at them, later threw the husband to the ground, kicked him, and choked him with both hands. The suspect also struck the wife when she tried to help. The suspect later surrendered to police and was jailed at Bergen County Jail pending a Superior Court hearing.
