Lubbock man struck and killed by pickup truck on 50th Street

Pedestrian Hit Lubbock Texas in Lubbock, Texas: On June 29, 2026, Lubbock police responded to a vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash at 50th Street and Avenue Q just before 10:00 p.m. Arnulfo Rodriguez, 64, was walking south across 50th Street when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by 19-year-old Joseph Hernandez. Rodriguez was transported to University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead. As of July 2, no charges had been filed against Hernandez and the investigation remained open.
