Kansas man killed in head-on crash on US 24 in Shawnee Coun…

Car Crash Shawnee Kansas in Shawnee, Kansas: A 2025 Ram 1500 driven by James D. Ulmer, 50, of Leavenworth, was eastbound on U.S. 24 one mile east of Northwest Humphrey Road in Shawnee County, Kansas, attempting to pass vehicles when it struck a westbound 2023 Kia Soul head-on just after 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Kia's driver, Dakota J. Bacon, 23, of Topeka, was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Forensic Medical in Kansas City. EMS transported Ulmer and Kia passenger William C. Robertson III, 28, of Topeka, to Stormont Vail. The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the crash.
