Vehicle Fire Fresh Meadows New York in Fresh Meadows, New York: A fire broke out in the attic of a 2½-story private home at 158-57 76th Avenue in Fresh Meadows just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1. More than 20 units with nearly 80 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the blaze, which had engulfed the upper floor with heavy smoke conditions. Two residents and two firefighters sustained minor injuries and were transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in stable condition. The fire was brought under control just after 10:45 p.m., and FDNY fire marshals will determine the cause.
