Shooting Federal Way Washington in Federal Way, Washington: A 19-year-old Federal Way man, identified by his family as Caution Curtis Mann, called 911 on June 24 while experiencing a mental health crisis. Federal Way police officers responded and located him while he was still armed, initially using less-lethal options before the encounter culminated in an officer-involved shooting. Officers performed lifesaving efforts and Mann was transported to an area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. The Valley Independent Investigative Team, a multi-agency squad from south King County police departments, is conducting an outside investigation, with Kent police serving as the primary contact.
