Car Crash Northtown Illinois in Northtown, Illinois: A 36-year-old Dixon man died after a single-car crash early Wednesday morning near the Interstate 39 and Interstate 55 interchange. Thomas D. Rockwood was the only person inside a Nissan Pathfinder when it crashed into a tree off northbound I-39, a mile north of the interchange around 4:25 a.m., near Northtown Road in Normal Township. He was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m. at Carle Bromenn Medical Center. Illinois State Police could not confirm what caused the car to veer off the road, and a toxicology test is pending.
