Child loses hand in fireworks explosion in north Tulsa
Vehicle Fire Tulsa Oklahoma in Tulsa, Oklahoma: Tulsa police responded to a call near 46th Street North and Main Street around 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday after a child had their hand blown off by fireworks. Two children, ages 11 and 12, were treated by the Tulsa Fire Department and EMSA; the 12-year-old's hand was largely destroyed and he suffered significant eye trauma. Both were taken to a local hospital, and the 12-year-old was then flown to a hospital in Oklahoma City. Police said the 12-year-old was holding a small grenade-like mortar firework for the 11-year-old to light when it exploded, and both children are expected to survive.
