Biddeford man drowns in Sabattus Pond after kayak capsizes

Drowning Sabattus Maine in Sabattus, Maine: A 29-year-old Biddeford man drowned in Sabattus Pond on Wednesday night after the kayak he was paddling tipped over. The incident occurred just before 8:00 p.m. near the shore of Martin's Point Park. Officials said the man did not know how to swim and was not wearing a flotation device; his friend in another kayak and several others attempted to help but were unable to rescue him. Game Wardens are investigating the incident.
