Alden man charged with DWI after multi-car crash damages St…

Dui Crash Original New York in original, New York: A 34-year-old Alden man was charged with DWI after a multi-car crash on I-190 in the Town of Tonawanda that damaged a marked State Police Charger. A trooper was responding to a one-car property damage crash and was outside the marked Charger with emergency lights on when a Dodge Ram driven by James Phalen struck a Ford Focus, which then hit the State Police Charger, causing it to hit a Dodge Charger involved in the original crash. Phalen was not hurt and was arrested by additional responding troopers for DWI and issued other vehicle and traffic tickets.
