Shooting Syracuse New York in Syracuse, New York: Damarion Jones, 16, accidentally shot and killed his 13-year-old best friend Jonah Tanner inside a residence on Lincoln Avenue in Syracuse, New York, on a Wednesday night. The 9 mm handgun discharged while Jones was handling it, and Tanner suffered critical injuries and was later declared brain dead at the hospital. Overwhelmed by guilt, Jones then turned the gun on himself and died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick commented on the case, which remains under review.
