Drowning Detroit Michigan in Detroit, Michigan: Aamina Bradley, 14, drowned in the Detroit River on Saturday, June 27, after jumping in to rescue her 9-year-old cousin during a family graduation party at a Detroit park. Bystanders pulled the 9-year-old out of the water but could not find Aamina, who was overcome by the river's current despite being an experienced swimmer. The Detroit Police Department, Coast Guard, Detroit Fire Department, and Harbor Master responded to the scene.
