Vehicle Fire Tulsa Oklahoma in Tulsa, Oklahoma: A 12-year-old boy lost a hand and suffered severe eye injuries after a mortar-style firework exploded Wednesday night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, according to police. An 11-year-old also suffered lacerations across his upper body. The 12-year-old was taken to a Tulsa hospital before being flown to an Oklahoma City hospital for additional treatment. Tulsa Police Capt. Richard Meulenberg said the boy was holding the firework, lit it, and it exploded in his hand; the incident appears to be accidental and remains under investigation.
