Police Pursuit Crash Van Cortlandt New York in Van Cortlandt, New York: A Yonkers police officer opened fire on a carjacking suspect driving a stolen black BMW after a police pursuit that began in Yonkers and continued into the Bronx. The suspect collided head-on with a marked Yonkers police vehicle on an exit ramp to the Mosholu Parkway in Van Cortlandt Park. When the suspect then drove toward the officer, the officer fired shots but did not strike anyone. The officer was treated for minor injuries from the initial collision, and the suspect fled the scene.
