Shooting Chicago Illinois in Chicago, Illinois: A 30-year-old man was killed and a 65-year-old man wounded in a shooting around 3:20 a.m. Wednesday outside the Royal Sonesta River North hotel in Chicago. Police said someone jumped out of a vehicle and opened fire on the two men near the intersection of Grand Avenue and State Street, shattering hotel windows. The 30-year-old suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at Northwestern Memorial Hospital; the 65-year-old, described as an unintended target, was shot in the foot and also taken to Northwestern. Area 3 detectives are investigating.
