Dui Crash Modesto California in Modesto, California: A three-vehicle crash on Ladd Road in Modesto resulted in a car fire and two deaths Saturday night around 9:36 p.m., according to the Modesto Fire Department and California Highway Patrol. A Porsche speeding westbound on Ladd Road struck the rear of a Ram pickup truck, then crossed into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on with a Mercedes SUV. The Porsche caught fire; its 57-year-old driver from Modesto was transported to UC Davis Medical Center and died Sunday. The right front passenger of the Porsche, 38-year-old Jon Burgess of Manteca, was also killed. Multiple people were taken to the hospital, and CHP said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
