Sports Independence Missouri in Independence, Missouri: Independence police are searching for a driver who struck a man riding a motorized scooter and fled the scene without rendering aid or reporting the crash. The collision occurred around 1:20 a.m. on June 30 on westbound 23rd Street near Woodbury Drive. The scooter operator was transported to a nearby hospital and remains hospitalized with possible life-threatening injuries.
