Sports in Las Vegas, Nevada: An 8-year-old boy was struck by a 2011 Hyundai Elantra while crossing North Las Vegas Boulevard outside a marked crosswalk around 9:33 p.m. on Sunday night in northeast Las Vegas. The child was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition. The driver remained on scene and cooperated with police. The child's parents, Mark Ecott and Aubrey Lambdin, were later charged with felony child abuse after police learned the boys had been riding bikes without adult supervision and the home was found filled with trash and animal feces.
