Shooting East Haven Connecticut in East Haven, Connecticut: Jose Juan Velasquez Jr., 39, of Meriden, pointed a loaded .357 magnum revolver at two juveniles on Main Street in East Haven on Sunday evening after they looked at his vehicle, according to police. The driver stopped in the middle of the street, pointed the handgun out the driver's side window, then exited the car and asked, "What do you wanna do?" before fleeing when a police car passed. Officers stopped the 2007 Honda Accord minutes later, took Velasquez into custody, and recovered the loaded revolver from the center console. Velasquez faces charges including first-degree threatening, risk of injury to a child, first-degree reckless endangerment, and carrying a pistol without a permit.
