Car Crash Chicago Illinois in Chicago, Illinois: Chicago police say 38-year-old Garland Spikes was driving a McLaren eastbound through an intersection around 1:45 a.m. on an early Sunday when he allegedly ran a red light and broadsided a northbound black Nissan SUV in the Grand Crossing neighborhood. The SUV driver, 56-year-old Detrice D. Wortham, was pronounced dead at the scene. Spikes, who was driving on a suspended license, was charged with reckless homicide, reckless driving, and driving on a suspended license. Police say the SUV driver then fled the scene after the SUV struck a box truck and ricocheted into other vehicles.
