Vehicle Fire Columbia South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina: A South Carolina woman, Zana Oden, was arrested after her three young children, ages 6, 4, and 2, were left alone in deplorable conditions and critically injured in a Monday night house fire at a Floran Street home in Columbia. The Columbia Fire Department rescued the children, who suffered severe burns, and they were taken to a local hospital before being transferred to the JMS Burn Center in Augusta, Georgia, where they remain in critical but stable condition. Oden, who was not at the home during the fire and later tried to evade arrest by hiding in a closet, was charged with three counts of unlawful conduct toward a child and could face additional charges. The South Carolina Department of Social Services has also become involved due to the conditions in the home.
