Car Crash Pierson Florida in Pierson, Florida: A 30-year-old man from Astor was killed in a head-on crash around 5:30 a.m. on State Road 40 west of Check Station Road in Pierson, Volusia County, Florida. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a 2004 Buick Rendezvous eastbound when the SUV traveled off the right side of the roadway onto the shoulder, then overcorrected into the westbound lanes and into the path of an oncoming 2017 Ford F-350 hauling a trailer. The Buick collided head-on with the Ford; the Buick driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old Ford driver later drove himself to a local hospital, and his 39-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
