The Ohio State Highway Patrol said a 2013 Polaris Ranger UTV carrying two 14-year-olds was traveling north on Township Road 203 in Clay Township when the driver attempted to negotiate a left-hand curve, traveled off the right side of the roadway, and overturned, ejecting both occupants. The victim, Kya Barger, 14, of Gnadenhutten, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second 14-year-old sustained critical injuries and was flown to Akron Children's Hospital. Neither juvenile was wearing a seat belt or helmet, and the crash remains under investigation.
