Woman charged with DUI manslaughter in fatal wrong-way I-75…
Dui Crash Florida Today in Florida: Genise Taylor, 24, is charged with DUI manslaughter, DUI property damage, reckless driving and vehicular homicide following a fatal wrong-way crash on Interstate 75 in Collier County on March 18. Investigators say the crash occurred hours after a Collier County Sheriff's deputy stopped Taylor and determined she was too impaired to drive, then arranged for a friend to pick her up and take possession of her vehicle. Authorities say Taylor later drove the wrong way on I-75 with a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit and crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by 96-year-old Arthur Gilbert, killing him instantly. A Collier County judge denied a request Monday to release Taylor from jail to a residential substance abuse treatment program while she awaits trial.
