Two-vehicle crash in Sumter County kills woman from Ward
Car Crash Alabama Today in Alabama: A two-vehicle crash early Sunday in Sumter County, Alabama, claimed the life of a woman from Ward. The crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. on June 28 on Alabama Highway 17 near Sumter County Route 42, about 11 miles south of York. Pritchett, 34, was critically injured when the sedan she was driving hit an SUV driven by 34-year-old Rolandus S. Ward. Pritchett, who was not wearing a seat belt, was airlifted to DCH Regional Medical Center, where she later died. Ward was also injured and transported to Ochsner Rush Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the wreck.
